Rice Krispy Eggs

Yesterday my niece E and I were busy bunnies making eggs!  We made some pretty yummy stuff and we hope that you enjoy them!

Last year, when E was two and half, we made Rice Krispy Eggs so last weekend she called me up asking if we could do it again.  Does that make it a tradition?
These are easy enough to do with the littlest of hands and can be done in stages to keep them interested.

Rice Krispy Eggs

Supplies:

Plastic Eggs
Cooking Spray
Butter
Rice Krispies
Mini Marshmallows
Chocolate
Sprinkles

Step 1: Wash, dry and spray plastic eggs with cooking spray.

Step 2: Make a basic Rice Krispies Squares recipe.
Ingredients: 4 tablespoons Butter, 4 cups mini marshmallows and 7 cups of Rice Krispies
Directions: Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.  Add in the mini marshmallows and stir until melted.  Lower the heat and add in the Rice Krispies one cup at a time, string well.  When putting in the sixth cup turn off the heat.  Once all the Rice Krispies are in the pot remove from the heat.
We took an apple break here!

Step 3: Spray hands with the cooking spray (so it doesn’t stick to your hands!) and fill the eggs with the Rice Krispies mixture.

Step 4 & 5: Let the eggs cool.  While they are cooling melt chocolate and get ready to decorate.

Step 6: Pull the Rice Crispy Eggs out, than first dip the eggs into the chocolate and then the sprinkles.  This was E’s favourite part.

The final product!

Enjoy!!
